A phone call is good for small moves but if a customer is moving locally a 2,000 sq ft house with lots of furniture and boxes it is always right to do an onsite estimate. When you invite a moving estimator to get a quote it will always be the most accurate assessment as they see the real quantity and size of your furniture , boxes and other items. When visiting your house the estimator sees the access to/through the house , all the tight spots, the items in the garage and backyard and sheds. This estimate takes about 20- 30 minutes but you will know how many movers you may need, what size the truck should be and if you need a packing quote the estimator will give you an idea how many hours the movers will spend to pack the house and how much packing supplies are needed to pack the whole house. For example on a 2,000 sq ft house a 3 man crew may spend 7 to 9 hours + 1 hour of Travel Time (the time for the crew to come to/from the job site.) What to expect from our moving team on a moving day when doing a move within Calgary & Calgary Area

The truck driver will always call the customer an hour before arriving. Upon arrival the moving team will pull out the ramps to make the loading go faster. They will spread the floor runners on every level in the house and will have a walk-througn with the customer to understand what is being moved and what is staying in the house. The foreman gives instructions to his helpers, controls the loading process and determines the loading sequence. In order not to interfere with each other on the staircase or on 1 level one mover always disassembles the furniture (usually it`s 3 beds and a dinning table), 1 member starts wrapping furniture and the 3rd one dollies the ready-to-go labeled boxes out of the house and into the truck stacking them in a professional way. The house gets emptied from the top – down. After emptying every house level the customer with the foreman double checks if nothing has been left behind. Garage and backyard items get loaded last. Usually a loading takes from 4 to 6 on an average house. After the truck is loaded the driver checks all the straps ,closes the doors and the crew leaves.
